Hardware
In the process of implementing your software system solutions, it may be necessary to upgrade or add to your current hardware population. Qi can supply you with all the necessary hardware you need, from a single workstation PC to a complete network infrastructure with servers, workstations and the necessary networking peripherals to support it.
Servers
We can provide most types of server hardware including multi-processor solutions. Associated items such as Tape Backup and uninterruptible power supplies can also be provided. Server systems are now provided with Windows 2003 SBS Server or Windows 2003 Server (although we can support older versions of Server Network Operating Systems).
Workstations
We can provide most types of workstation hardware including tower, desktop or laptop systems. Workstation operating systems are now supplied with Windows XP Professional.
Local Area Network (LAN)
When it comes to the network, Qi can provide all services that you need to implement an efficient, robust network with future company expansion very much in mind. We can install structured cabling, patching cabinets and cables, Ethernet hub/switch units, routers, firewalls and any other peripheral devices i.e. printers required for the network.
Wide Area Network (WAN)
Qi has the necessary expertise to implement your Wide area networking requirements. Wide area networks can extend your local network to anywhere in the world where you may have a branch office, a teleworker or anyone that requires remote access to your local area network. Broadband ADSL (and in some cases SDSL, Bonded Lines, Load Balancing and Leased Lines) access to the Internet has made it possible to extend networks using Virtual Private Networking (VPN) technology. Qi can provide all you require to make this possible.

Alongside wide area networking is the necessary means by which to provide high performance remote access to applications. This can be achieved with Thin Client technology such as Remote Web Workplace (Windows 2003 SBS), Windows Terminal Services and Citrix Metaframe XP. These services usually require a separate hardware platform depending on the size of the implementation required. A simpler solution for single user access can be provided with PcAnywhere or Remote Desktop Client (RDC Windows XP).
