IDC provides an invoice consolidation service for small dairies across the UK who provide dairy products to large retail chains.
Background
IDC had outgrown two previous accounting systems and needed to upgrade to a new, modern and robust system. They wanted to process very large number of transactions quickly and most importantly efficiently. They wanted a system that was 'bullet proof'!
Solution
In January 2003, IDC decided to implement a replacement accounting system and chose Microsoft Dynamics NAV, to be supplied and implemented by Qi Limited. Qi also assisted in data conversion from the existing system, and linking the customers own bespoke systems to the Navision database. Navision (now know as Microsoft Dynamics NAV) has been modified to fit IDC's requirements.
Result
The new system provides a robust and reliable method of processing huge numbers
of transactions efficiently. A large range of the administrative functions (such
as cash matching and supplier payments) can now be completed much more quickly
because of the power of the NAV sorting and filtering capabilities.
